Most Common Reasons
- CPS
- Starter or Starter Solenoid
- Fuel Pump
- Distributor (up to 99 only)
- PCM / ECU
Runs Erratic under Load / Accelaration
- If backfires through intake, check for Clogged Fuel Pump
- If it pings and runs hot
- Check Timing (Advanced or Retarded Timing)
- Make sure the Distributor case bolt is tight. You shouldnt be able to turn the whole distributor by hand
- Take cap off, check for Broken Distributor or worn distributor shaft bearing. You shouldnt be able to spin the distributor rotor or shaft freely.
