Clunking sound in front when braking

When applying the brakes or doing a front brake dive and you hear a clunk in the front of your Jeep XJ or MJ, check for the following:

  1. Tighten your front brake caliper mounting bracket bolts .  See diagram
  2. Tighten your front brake caliper bolts.  See diagram
  3. Tighten upper control arm mounting bolts on the unibody side
  4. Check trackbar bolt on axle side.
  5. Check for loose shock mounts or bolts
